We Believe

Feminism and the Female Experience

We believe that true equality—in pay, employment opportunities, political representation, quality of life, social security, and education—will remain out of reach for both cisgender and transwomen without an explicit guarantee of feminist equality in the U.S. Constitution. The progress achieved toward women’s equality, while significant, is fragile, the strides we have made—and must continue to pursue—toward women’s equality are not permanent, as they rely on laws that Congress can weaken or repeal at any time. While the effort to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment has not yet succeeded, Liberal Ladies Org remains resolute in its mission to secure a constitutional guarantee of equality for women, recognizing it as one of our highest priorities. The Liberal Ladies Org views patriarchy as a social evil because it systematically oppresses women and children by perpetuating gender-based inequalities and limiting opportunities. Patriarchy enforces harmful power dynamics, denies women autonomy, and subjects them to violence, discrimination, and economic dependence. It also negatively impacts children, especially girls, by reinforcing rigid gender roles and limiting their potential. The organization believes dismantling patriarchy is crucial to achieving true equality, empowering women, and creating a society where all individuals can thrive, free from the constraints of outdated, oppressive systems – Patriarchal thinking is merely one of the products of the radical right’s ongoing efforts to “keep women in their place.”

Advancing Racial Justice and Equality

Liberal Ladies Org strongly condemns the pervasive racism that places a double burden of race and sex discrimination on women of color, perpetuating systemic inequities and compounding the challenges they face. We recognize that human rights are indivisible and are deeply committed to identifying, addressing, and dismantling the barriers to equality and justice created by racism. This commitment extends to fostering diversity and inclusivity within our own movement, ensuring that the voices and experiences of women of color are heard, valued, and prioritized. Liberal Ladies Org continues to advocate tirelessly for equal opportunities for women of color across all spheres of life, including access to fair employment, quality education, reproductive healthcare, and the broader pursuit of social and economic justice.

Supporting Women’s Rights for Reproductive Freedom and Abortion

Liberal Ladies Org asserts that reproductive rights are essential matters of life and death for women, transcending mere personal choice. LLO unequivocally supports comprehensive access to safe, legal abortion in addition to effective birth control, emergency contraception, and reproductive healthcare services such as IUI and IVF, alongside thorough education, and bodily autonomy for all women. We stand firmly against any efforts to undermine these rights through legislative, regulatory, or constitutional measures for ANY reasons.

Championing LGBTQIA+ Rights and Freedom

The Liberal Ladies Org is steadfast in its commitment to fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in every sphere of life. This includes, but is not limited to, employment, housing, public accommodations, healthcare, child custody, and military policies. We recognize that true equality requires comprehensive protections that prevent prejudice and foster inclusivity in all aspects of society. Our organization is dedicated to advancing educational initiatives aimed at dismantling the harmful effects of homophobia and transphobia, challenging stereotypes, and promoting accurate, positive representations of LGBTQIA+ individuals in the media. Liberal Ladies Org stands firmly in support of the inherent dignity and security of LGBTQIA+ individuals, advocating for their right to live authentically and without fear. We affirm our unwavering commitment to marriage equality and to ensuring that every person, regardless of who they are or whom they love, can enjoy equal rights and opportunities under the law. Liberal Ladies Org stands in solidarity with our sisters parallel to us in the trans community, all women and the scope of their experiences matter.

Promoting Literacy and Education for All

The Liberal Ladies Org is deeply committed to promoting literacy and advancing a broad spectrum of educational initiatives, recognizing education as a fundamental tool for empowerment and social change. We firmly believe that education serves as the foundation for addressing the economic justice issues that disproportionately impact women, from the barriers of the glass ceiling in professional settings to the enduring struggles of poverty. By investing in education and promoting literacy, we can cultivate future generations of women leaders who will rise to use their voices in service of equity, justice, and the collective will of the people. Literacy and education are not just individual opportunities; they are the cornerstones of systemic change. They hold the power to drive welfare reform, secure livable wages, dismantle job discrimination, and achieve pay equity. They play a critical role in ensuring fair access to housing, strengthening social security and pension systems, and fostering a compassionate approach to policymaking in our nation. The Liberal Ladies Org believes that through the transformative power of education, we can build a society where all women have the tools and opportunities to thrive, contribute, and lead.

Showing Up and Showing Out

Showing Up and Showing Out (verb): 1. Through living our values in our daily actions, we aim to inspire others to do the same. 2. We vote our values in the voting booth and we live them in our everyday life. 3. Understand that activism isn’t just a choice; it’s a responsibility to build a better world through actions that echo our beliefs.

Our Commitments

Supporting political candidates and causes that reflect our core values.

Liberal Ladies Org believes in “showing up and showing out” for candidates and causes we believe in. The Liberal Ladies Org believes in supporting political candidates and causes that reflect their core values because this is essential for advancing the goals of gender equality, social justice, and human rights. By supporting candidates who align with their principles, such as advocating for women’s rights, racial justice, labor protections, and LGBTQIA+ equality, the organization helps ensure that policies and laws reflect the needs and aspirations of all women, particularly those from marginalized communities. By endorsing causes and candidates who share these values, this allows the Liberal Ladies Org to be an active part of the political process, ensuring that women’s voices are heard and that their concerns are addressed at every level of government. This advocacy helps to shape a more inclusive and equitable society where women’s rights are protected, opportunities are expanded, and progress is made in areas such as healthcare, education, social justice, and economic empowerment. Ultimately, supporting political candidates who reflect their core values enables the Liberal Ladies Org to drive meaningful change that benefits women and their communities.

Defending Labor Rights and Empowering Workers

Liberal Ladies Org believes in the defense of labor rights and empower workers because these actions are crucial for achieving gender equality and economic justice. Women, particularly women of color and those from marginalized communities, are disproportionately represented in low-wage, precarious jobs where they often face exploitation, unsafe working conditions, and discrimination. By advocating for labor rights, LLO seeks to ensure fair wages, workplace protections, and access to benefits such as healthcare and paid leave. Empowering workers, especially women, allows them to gain economic independence, improve their quality of life, and break free from cycles of poverty. Labor protections also enable women to challenge gender-based discrimination, fight for equal pay, and secure better working conditions. For LLO, defending labor rights is integral to creating a society where women are not only treated with dignity and respect in the workplace but are also able to thrive economically and socially. By supporting workers' rights, the Liberal Ladies Org promotes a more just and equitable society for all.

Strengthening Protections for Immigrants with Clear Paths to Citizenshipn

The Liberal Ladies Org advocates for strengthening protections for immigrants and providing clear paths to citizenship because such actions are essential for advancing gender equality and human rights. Immigrant women, particularly those from marginalized communities, face unique challenges – including heightened risks of exploitation, violence, and discrimination. Without access to legal protections or pathways to citizenship, they are vulnerable to abuse and may be hesitant to seek help due to fear of deportation or legal consequences. Ensuring that immigrant women have a clear path to citizenship not only improves their personal security and access to vital services like healthcare and education but also empowers them to participate fully in society. It allows them to contribute to their communities, secure stable employment, and break cycles of poverty. By advocating for immigrant protections, LLO aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society where all women, regardless of their nationality, can thrive with dignity, security, and opportunity. This aligns with the core feminist principle that all individuals, regardless of gender or background, deserve equal rights and protections.

Advocating for Ceasefires and ending War, promoting Peace

Liberal Ladies Org is unique in its approach to conflicts and war because of the issue of violence against women. LLO opposes war in all forms, particularly in Palestine, Lebanon, and Ukraine, due to its devastating impact on women and humanity. These conflicts have destroyed lives, destabilized communities, and subjected women to severe rights violations, including weaponized sexual violence, exploitation, and trafficking. Women and children, as the majority of refugees, face heightened risks of abuse, poverty, and limited access to healthcare, including essential reproductive services. In Gaza, Lebanon, and Ukraine, women bear the burden of caring for families amidst economic collapse, displacement, and destroyed infrastructure, with few opportunities to rebuild their lives. Beyond the suffering of women, war dehumanizes entire populations of people, perpetuating cycles of violence, poverty, and trauma. The Liberal Ladies Org calls for immediate ceasefires, humanitarian aid, and long-term solutions to address the root causes of these conflicts. Only peace can ensure dignity, security, and a future where women and their communities can thrive.

Standing up for our Veterans

Liberal Ladies Org proudly supports veterans, because we stand with women in roles where decisions are made and actions shape the future, including the highest-ranking positions in our military. Women have long been vital to military efforts, from the fierce leadership of Boudicca the Iceni warrior queen, who defended Celtic lands against the Romans – to the millions of women like Rosie the Riveter, who built the tanks, planes, bombs, and bullets that powered Allied success in World War II. Today in modern warfare, women have been integral to the defense of freedom, serving both on the frontlines and behind the scenes in critical capacities. Our commitment to veterans recognizes the sacrifices made by service members of all genders. Feminism values the selflessness of those who step forward to protect their communities and defend principles of justice, often at great personal cost and the Liberal Ladies Org honors our military members' courage and stand in solidarity with veterans as they navigate life after service, advocating for the support, respect, and resources they deserve. Moreover, we call on our leaders and the commander-in-chief to honor veterans' contributions with dignity. Disparaging remarks such as referring to them as “suckers” or “losers” are unacceptable. These individuals often serve as the frontline defense against tyranny, embodying the best of American values. LLO insists on a nation that respects and uplifts its veterans, ensuring they are treated not as expendable tools but as individuals whose dedication safeguards the freedoms we cherish. Liberal Ladies Org recognizes that a just society honors all who serve, regardless of gender, and works to ensure their well-being, both in service and beyond. Supporting veterans means pushing for better healthcare, mental health resources, and economic opportunities for them and their families. In doing so, we demonstrate that their sacrifices are neither forgotten nor taken for granted.
